Twelve Steps of a Sponsor

I will not help you say and wallow in limbo.

I will help you to grow, to become more productive, by your own definition.

I will help you become more autonomous, more loving of yourself, more free to continue becoming the authority of your own living.

I cannot give you dreams or ‘fix you up’ simply because I cannot.

I cannot give you growth, or grow for you. You must grow yourself, by facing reality, grim as it is at times.

I cannot take away your loneliness or pain.

I cannot sense your world for you, evaluate your goals, or tell you what is best for you in your world; you have your own world.

I cannot convince you of the crucial choice of choosing the scary uncertainty of growing over the safe misery not to grow.

I want to be with you and know you as a rich and growing friend, yet I cannot get close to you when you choose not to grow.

When I begin to care for you out of pity, when I begin to lose trust in you, then I am toxic, bad and inhibiting for you, and you for me.

You must know- my help is conditional, I will be with you, hang in there with you, as long as I continue to get even the slightest hints that you are trying to grow.

If you can accept all this, then perhaps we can help each other to become what God meant us to be…mature adults, leaving childishness forever to little children.

You can keep on doing what your doing or you can change.
We learn to set up boundries for us.
Al-Anon attracts....Does not promote.
Some of the best stuff you may hear will be before the meeting or after the meeting around the coffee pot.
What you hear here, What you see here, When you leave here, Let is stay here.
Respect all others anonimity.
You will hear what you need to hear, and see what you need to see.
When we are ready the teacher will appear.
We put a rug or blanket over the elephant in the middle of the floor and walked around it.
We were walking on egg shells
Didn't want to rock the boat.
Responsible only for our own actions.
You don't have to like it, just learn to accept it.
Put it in the God box,jar, can, or bag.
Detach with love.

Are you willing to go to any length to get what I have?
Sometimes the best action is to do nothing.

Fear is only unanswered prayers.

Learn to accept a compliment by just saying thank you! if not have a thank you jar to put a coin in.
There is Alateen and Alatots for the children.
Happiness is an inside job and not any other persons responsibility to make us happy.
You are as Happy as you make up your mind to be.
