Hi, my name is Fabio (no, I am not tall with long blond hair). I was born on May 17th, 1969 in Rio de Janeiro (people from this city are also known as Cariocas), a beautiful city in Brazil that lies between beaches and mountains. My father's family originally came from Portugual, and my mother's from Italy, both in the turn of the century, but I consider myself just plain Brazilian. I've lived most of my life in Rio, except between 1978 and 1982, when I lived in Boston, Mass., and since 1996 in New York City. I graduated as an Engineer from PUC-Rio, a well known University in Brazil, in 1993, specializing in Computer Systems. My first job was at IBM, where I worked in techincal marketing, as a network specialist. I left in 1995 to search for more fertile grounds in the U.S. My first job in the U.S. was for Hoffman-La Roche, a Swiss chemical/pharmaceutical company out in Paramus, NJ, working as a consultant. In October 1997 I decided it was time to move on and found an assignement working for Bear, Stearns & Co., a large investmenet bank in midtown Manhattan. I recently incorporated myself, so in the short future you might find a page for Brascomp Consultants! My interests include computers (of course!) and music -- especially instrumental fusion and progressive rock -- I used to play the bass guitar in high school. I'm not really a TV buff, and the only shows I (try to) watch are The Simpsons, Seinfeld and more recently, South Park. |
