I found this beautiful poem written inside the cover of a religious education book. The student who wrote it there, Brian Goodman, told me it was by Robert Frost. It is a wonderful poem, and seems to capture the essence of Josiah's life. The most wonderful things in life are so fleeting. Josiah was so perfect, so special, it is no wonder God wanted him back so quickly. Nothing gold can stay.
NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY
Nature's first green is gold.
Her hardest hue to hold;
Her early leafs a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
