Dra. Estela Cifre de Loubriel

Sadly, Doña Estela, as she was known to her admirers, passed away December 12, 1998. She was a past professor of the University of Puerto Rico, a genealogist who has dedicated all of her 90 years young to the preservation of Puerto Rican history and genealogical records. Her series of books on "La Formación del Pueblo Puertorriqueño" are a must for the novice and serious Puerto Rican and Hispanic genealogist alike. She was a true Puerto Rican treasure. Her work was incomparable. She will be sorely missed.
