If you have visited this web site before, you may have noticed a lot of new changes. Thanks for being patient and watching the progress on our web site. Thank you also for all the wonderful responses and requests for assistance. We hope we have helped you further in your own search. We have continued to add new, and we hope innovative ways of presenting our family history in stories revolving around our adventures in our search for our ancestors. This section, called MUERTITO HEAVEN, has a new story about every month or so. The first story is how the name muertito heaven came to be. Another is "Dos Cuentos" the reason behind our search for our ancestors. Check out Part II thru V and share in the frustration and humor that many of us face as we search for our ancestors. We update the index of surnames on each site as we come up with new names (and or corrections) to help you search for names you are interested in. I hope you recognize someone in our files. Remember that this is a file of our direct lines only. And not of all our parientes. I am still adding more pictures. It will be under constant construction. It's a start, gente! I have finished working on the history of the casa solar of the Oquendos from San Sebastián, Spain. Don't forget to stop by the BiblioTienda and browse the selection of books on genealogy, poetry, culture and the history of Puerto Rico and Latin America. Maintaining both sites is almost a full time job! But it's hard to stop. We hope we are helping you to love genealogy. The music you have heard throughout this site are some of my parents' favorite songs. If you send an electronic postcard you can use the music you have heard anywhere on this site for your card. Just copy the link location of the music or click on the beatnik console for the name of the midi and insert it in the box specified. For example, the music on this page would be my web site address with /sound/salsa.mid after the 7215. (You may do the same with the fotos on our gallery as long as you provide a link back to the gallery site on your card. To use a foto on the card just use same address but add fotos/nameofpix.JPG after the 7215 instead).
Our home was always alive with music. An interesting fact about our family is that two of our uncles played with the Trio VegaBajeño, a group I'm sure well-known to most of you. One, Pedrito Crespo Gonzales, has a street named after him in Vega Baja. Sadly, he passed away in 09/25/97. The way we remember him:
Our second uncle, who has been gone for many years now, Fernando Martínez Rivera played with Las Tres Guitarras. It is the music we grew up with.
