  1. John Battle, b. ca. 1660 in VA, d. 1728 in Surry Co., VA; md. 1684 in Surry Co., VA to Margaret Sowersbye, d/o James Sowersbye
  2. Thomas Battle of sussex Co., VA

*note these two sons are documented with land records.   Some say there was a third son William, but no documentation.

Sussex Co., VA, 20 Feb 1767 to Moses Johnson;  2- Lydia, md. _____ Nicholson,, one child Robert Flood Nicholson;  3- Amy, md. William Richardson, one child Jordan Richardson, b. 15 Jan 1751 in Sussex co., VA.
  4. Elizabeth Battle, provision made for her maintenance by her father in his will.
