Moses Waldroop; Power of Attorney
Know all men by these present that I Moses Wardrope of the county of Madison state of North Carolina, son and heir at law of Edward Wardrope deceased a pensioner of the United States under act of June 1832, do hereby _____? and appoint John B. Woodfin of Burnsville, Yancey Co.,NC my ____? and lawful attorney for me and in my name to receive from the commissioners of pensions the pension certificate for the _____? of pension that is ___? and due at my said fathers decease to examine all papers now on file in the pension office and file new one if deemed expedient and generally to do all lawful acts and things in ____? ___? and perfect manner as I could do were I personally present and acting for me , I hereby revoke all powers of Attorney at anytime heretofor executed by me or by anyone having or claiming to have the control or claiming to have control of said matter. Edward Wardrop , Heirs; Yancey Co.,NC Court Minutes, July term 1845
It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that Edward Wardrop a resident of the said county and a revolutionary petioner of the United States at the rate of forty dollars perannuam and died in said county & state on the 14th April 1844 leaving the following eight children (viz) Eli Wardrop, Solomon Wardrop, Polly, David, Tom, James, Elizabeth Underwood, Nancy McDaniel all of lawful age and that are the only surviving children of said Edward Wardrop.
