YOUNG
The following information was given to me by Lawrence E. Wood, who has done many years of Young research. " The record of the Young Family begins with the War of Roses, A.D. 1455---1485, fought between the adherents of the houses of York and Lancaster, rival branches to the Royal Family of England. The family was known as Young-Stuart. In 1485 they dropped the Stuart from their name and were known as Young's. The young family settled in Maryland shortly after 1700 and it was believed that our John and Henry were sons of William Young - whose father was born about 1650."
