The Longwell House
located in Sussex County, New Jersey.
Built in the 1790's by David Longwell
who was married to Sarah Tyler.
David served in the Revolutionary War in Conneticut and New York.
The farm is shown on the large 1860 map that hangs in the muncipal Bldg. in Vernon.
Descendants of Bobbi Longwell Suave'
He left the farm to John Longwell who married Mehetable (?).
The farm then passed down to William who married Elizabeth Sprague
and William's brother, Charles who married Elizabeth Paddock.
Charles bought out William's share of the farm when William moved to Steuben County, NY.
However, William's son, James W. stayed on the Vernon farm with his Uncle Charles.
He was just a young boy at the time!
James W. stayed on the farm until he was an adult
and then moved to Paterson, NJ.
