The Towanda bank is located in Pennsylvania.

This bill is dated 1832 or 5 depending on the light. :)
It is signed by the banker Thomas Elliott,
the cashier who I cannot make out
and A. Mahan,who it is made out to.
It looks like a cashier check, but it is transferable...
in other words the bank would pay the bearer the $20.
WIth out knowing anything about banking history...
it must be they way they did it then!
I am dedicating this page to Mike,
as he comes up with the neatest old stuff,
so far from Pennsylvania!
