THE MARRIAGE
DECEMBER 23, TUESDAY MORNING AT 4:00
OUR ELOPEMENT: While she was buying bread with Apung Quica
in Pabalan's Bakery, she made a poor execuse to hear the
night mass and without any due answer, she made her way and
like a flash of lightning, I grasped her inside a carromata
which was stationed in front of Alimurung's house. The
horse
of Uncle Vicente Tuason sped on its way direct to San
Fernando Station and we rode the 5:15 o'clock train bound
for Manila. We arrived in the city at 7:20 and we first
bought a pair of slippers in a Chineleria store in lieu of
her wooden shoes she was wearing.

OUR WEDDING: January 15, at 6:00a.m.
Early in the morning of this day, (Thursday) we were
married in the Sampaloc Church here in Manila. Our sponsors
are my uncle Tiborcio Tuason and Mrs. Juliano Supangco de
Arcigal, the mother of Geling. A little preparation for the
family was made in the home of my Uncle Ambo. This is the
Calvary of our Romance we have sprinkled with our utmost
devotion and sincerity and will have to face another stage
of life and build a home of our own and indulge in a
commercial and economic way of living.
