Spider

This is a colorful drawing of a spider. It is not an insect! But it is commonly referred to as a bug along with insects, ticks, mites, centipedes, millipedes, sowbugs, pillbugs and others. All of these fall under the Animal Kingdom under the Phylum called "Arthropoda." Insects are designated as "INSECTA (hexapoda)" Class and spiders with mites and ticks are in the "ARACHNIDA" Class. The main difference is that insects have 3 pairs of legs (6 legs) and spiders have 4 pair of legs (8 legs). Spiders are in the order of "Araneae."
