LADY

Jan.19,1987-Apr.17,1999

This is Lady at twelve years old. She was a loyal companion and is greatly missed. She earned her CD. many years ago and could have gone on to do more but she was the first one that I trained and I promised her she would never have to do anything else if we could just get through the CD trials.

I kept my word to her. It was through no fault of hers but through mine, as I took her to a school that we did a lot of "pop the leash" training. This I learned is not the correct way to train a collie.

I thought I was teaching her and here it turns out she taught me! This is only one of the many things I learned from her. I hope she has forgiven me my ignorance.

WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH LADY.

HER LONG SLEEP

She wagged her tail to the very last
And she smiles in her last, long sleep;
The troubles of life, for her, are past!
A shrine in my heart I'll keep.
Her soul---for I feel that she had a soul
And she thought real thoughts, I know---
Has found the ultimate end, life's goal,
In the heaven where good dogs go.
She has lived with me and suffered with me
Shed tears, in her dog like way;
She has placed her paw at times on my knee,
In a vain attempt to say;
"God never gave us that wondrous power,
To tell all the things we feel,
But, I want to say, in my canine way,
That my sympathy is real."
So I loved my dog to the very end,
And she in our daily walk,
Was never just dog, but a constant friend
And we had no need to talk.
And I hope, when the summons comes, for me
To embark on the unknown tide,
I shall find her eyes in the Paradise
They say is the other side.

LB

This is LB. He was the last one born in a litter of nine puppies. He was a little thing and I just nick named him Little Boy. As time went on he was not so little anymore so I called him LB. He got initials just like important people. After all, he was very important!!

The photo above is of him when he was about five months old. He's getting ready to be groomed and get the mud wiped off his nose. He just loved playing in mud puddles. He was probably trying to play with the bugs in there!

Below is another photo of LB. This one was taken the day we lost him. We lost LB due to a tragic accident.

I will never forget his smiling face and all the pleasure he brought to us.

Please forgive us LB, and keep Lady company at the rainbow bridge until we get there.

WE LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH LB.

They say memories last forever
And that, I know is true.
And I'll keep all the memories,
that I have of you.
Forever I will miss you,
so many times I've cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no other could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and I'll always feel the pain.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
