While interviewing the Warrior/Healer, Catonia - this journalist spies a faded and worn tome sitting on the table. As Catonia goes upstairs for refreshments, I carefully pick up the journal and begin reading..........

"Though it may not be interesting to most, I lay down this journal for my little sister, bonnie.

Aleira, Grandmaster Tailor, was my mother. She was beautiful and very talented in her field. She was very tall and thin with long blonde hair that she would braid and hang down her back. She and her family lived in NuJelm. She was quite reputable and people would come from far away for her beautiful handwork. It is said that she even did delicate hand worked shirts for Lord Britain himself.

My father, Astin Morea, was a lumberjack. He loved the solitude of the forrest and he often told me stories of how the animals would talk to him and tell him where the best trees were or where monsters and wolves hid. He was a stout man, but all muscle with bright red hair and a long curly mustache that tickled when he would kiss me goodnite.

My parents met in NuJelm as my father was on a wood trading expedition. He and his brothers had a ship. They set up a trade route from their home in Cove to Maginicia, then to Nujelm, the ice island and would lay into Vesper or Moonglow for supplies.
It was on one of these trips that my uncle Emmink, who was also interested in the skill of tailoring, went to meet Aleira for a new set of GM Studded leather armor. Of course, my father went with him to protect him - for he was still a young boy. My mother said that it was love at first sight when she first saw my father. One year later, my father and mother were married.

They moved to Cove - a quiet little town where my granma Morea was born and her entire family lived for many generations. I was born first. Then Patrick, then Maria, Bettye and Bonnie.

When I was 12 years old. Patrick (who was eleven) wanted to go to the cemetery to put flowers on Autie Nicey's grave and so I went with him to watch over him. Bettye and Maria - the twins were only 8 and Bonnie's birthday was in two weeks - she would be 6. That very day, a band of orcs came into our town and killed my family. My mother was killed at her spinning wheel. Bettye and Maria where killed in the yard where they played skip rope. Fotunately, Bonnie was hiding from her sisters in a storage crypt, and was fine. We later found out that father and Uncle Knimme were cutting wood in the forest. We found father, two days later. We never found Uncle Knimme.

Patrick and I went to live in an old stone tower east of Yew, with our crotchety Uncle Emmink, who had grown brilliant in skill, but bitter in heart. Bonnie was sent to live with a cousin in Moonglow. I am now training to join the army. I will be 18 in a month. Patrick is pretty good with his hands, and loves to tinker and sew at mother's wheel and loom. As Bonnie approaches 12. she wants to come and live with us here on ice island. I fear her safety with the orcs and trolls around, but we have father's boat and as long as she fishes just off shore, I think she will be ok. It will be good to be a family again."
