MARCH 14 1889. Messrs. Rufus McPherson and son have put in a new saw for their woodworking in connection with their wood turning lathe and a number of emery wheels for gumming saws.
 

OCT 19 1893. Messrs. Rufus McPherson and son sold two churns last week to be sent to a party in New Zealand.
 

JUN 7 1894 The McPherson Mfg. are getting out large quantities of churns and racks. Their pmps, racks and wash tubs and celebrated churnes are in great demand

NOV 1 1894. The McPherson Mgf. Co. have placed an order for a new steam engine in their factory and are turning out some extra pumps and other wooden wear such as wiffle trees,neck yokes, potato pounders, rolling pins etc.

DEC 13 1694 The McPherson Mgf. Co. have built a new engine room for their factory.

MAY 16 1895 The McPherson Mfg. Co. are turning cedar posts for the new church fence.

JUL 2 1896 Mr. McPherson put down a new rock well near his factory & secured a good supply of water.

OCT 14 1897. The McPherson Mfg. Co. have more work than they are able to do. Their pumps wter racks, cisterns and water troughs stand the best of the dry weather.

MAR 24 1898 Mr. R. Rufus McPherson recieved the sad intelligence last week from Boston Mass, that his daughter Cassie's husband had been drowned in Boston Bay or near that place.

AUG 25 1898 The McPherson Mfg. Co. sold several water tanks, cisterns and pumps on Monday to a man near Varna.

JAN 11 1900. Rufus McPherson and son has placed a surface planer in their factory.

1902. Mr. Rufus McPherson had the misfortune to get some ashes in his eyes and has been laid up for about a week. We are pleased to hear that his is getting better.

MARCH 1914. Death removed on Thursday Feb 26th, one of the most conspicuous figures in this locality in the person of Rufus McPherson. he was in his 83 year. The deceased was born in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. He accompanied his father and family west in 1851 residing for one year. the deceased was born in Guysborough,Nova Scotia. In August of 1852 they moved west to the present homestead when it was unbroken forest. The deceased with his brothers, cleared up the farm and assisted others with the hard work which to the present generation would seem in surmountable. Physically, Mr. McPherson was one of the strongest men in the community,and intellectually his advice was frequently sought. As a neighbour he was the most accomodating, ever ready to lend a helping hand. He was known far and near. He is survived by two sons, James I. of Greenway and Ernest at home; and three daughters, Mrs. Henry Purdy of Hensel, Mrs. George Luther of Willis West, and Mrs. Rickhorn at home. He is also survived by two brothers, Fred of Minitonas, Saskatchewan, who with Mrs. McPherson is visiting here, and George of Iowa. The Funeral took place on Saturday, Internment taking place at DeLancy's cemetery , McGillivray, beside his wife who predeceased him several years, and his parents. -- Parkhill Gazette

The last burial at Meadowhill was that of Ernest "Mac" McPherson. From the Tweedsmuir book is noted that he was a very large man and the coffin had to be carried up the side of a very steep hill. Being that it was early Spring and the footing was very soft, it was impossible to get him to the McPherson plot, so he was buried in the pathway.

Ernest McPherson had a very successful wood bee Thursday last. PG - March 5, 1910

EXETER ADVOCATE Thursday April 19, 1917, CENTRALIA about 10:30 P.M. On Wednesday of last week. The sudden death took place of Mr. James Dixon, a respected resident of this village,while sitting in a chair at the house of his sister, Mrs. Conner. He had only recently arrived from Exeter where he had been consulting a physician for his throat. Deceased was in his 50th year and unmarried.
