SPRING POEM
by Mike Fullerton

There's sunshine through my window,
It's spring outside the door.
But even though the weather's fine,
I don't wanna see no more.
'cause where the snow was clean & white,
And covered up the ground.
There's lots of little doggy piles,
And they're ugly and they're brown.

I got those winter snows are melting and
Revealing all the dog turd blues.

I go out by the stone wall,
With sneakers on my feet.
And when I step in one of those,
The smell is not too neat.
And then I go back in the house,
And the stuff gets on the floor.
It's such a lousy mess to clean,
I don't want it any more.

I got those winter snows are melting and
Revealing all the dog turd blues.

I pick 'em with a shovel,
And put 'em in a bag.
I've got to get the lawn cleaned up,
'for the neighbors start to nag.
But when I pick the bag up,
And I think I've got 'em beat.
The bottom of the bag falls out,
and they land right on my feet.

I got those winter snows are melting and
Revealing all the dog turd blues.
