My Favorite Books and Authors!
My Favorite Authors and Books
I've added a new section about my favorite authors and books.
Authors
I have quite a few favorite authors. One in particular would be Tamora Pierce. She writes fantasy type books which include the Song of the Lioness Quartet and the Immortals Quartet. She is a fabulous writer and I reccomend her work to everyone.
Another favorite author would be Joanna Campbell. She wrote the first 12 or so books of the Thoroughbred series, my favorite series about horses until it switched authors and changed to jumping horses instead of racing. Joanna is a great author even though I don't read the Thoroughbreds anymore. Battlecry Forever! is a wonderful example of her non-series work.
Books
I have too many to list! But I'll do my best to list some favorites. I'm not going to list the plot of each and every book. If you want that type of thing, go to Amazon, the best place to find book info.
- The Song of the Lioness Quartet; by Tamora Pierce: this wonderful set of 4 books includes "Alanna:the first adventure", "In the Hand of the Goddess", "Woman who Rides like a Man", and "Lioness Rampant". These books are great! Alanna is a terrific character. These books have adventure, action, magic, and a little romance all in one. I find these books enchanting and it's easy to find yourself becoming Alanna. I also like George and Prince Jon, but I hate Thom in these books.
- The Immortals Quartet; by Tamora Pierce: this is a sequel quartet of the Song of the Lioness. I was disappointed to find that Alanna was not a main character here. Although these books are just as good, if not better, than their predescesors. Daine is a fun, wonderful character. Oh, and Numair is great too! And dragon lovers like myself will find Kit very interesting. The book in this series are, "Wild Magic", "Wolf-Speaker", "Emporer Mage", and "The Realms of the Gods". The last one is the best. These books have more romance than the last series, but equal action and adventure.
- The Ruby in the SMoke, the Shadow in the North, and the Tiger in the Well.; a trio series by Philip Pullman: these books are all about Sally Lockhart and her wonderful mysteries. They are wonderful and you will love Sally. The second book will make you cry so hard! THese are highly reccommended along w/ a book that goes after them but that is not about Sally directly, but Adelaide a girl from the trio. The other book is "Tin Princess".
That's all for now. More soon!
