Subject: Need your help identifying the Prairie Creek people in this photograph.
This photograph came from a photo album owned by my grandmother Ethel (Vickery) Frakes, daughter of Edwin Vickery and Anna (Harris) Vickery. Ethel was born 1889 in Parke County, IN, and later lived in both Sullivan and Vigo Counties. She was married to Walter Frakes, born in 1885 and son of Peter and Mary Ellen "Ella" (Biggs) Frakes of Fairbanks township, Sullivan County, IN. Walter and Ethel lived their married years in Terre Haute, IN.
Ethel’s note accompanying the photograph says it was taken in 1952 at a reunion held at the home of Roscoe Frakes in Prairie Creek, Vigo County, IN. Although it is a Prairie Creek reunion, the persons identified in the photograph so far are from both southern Vigo and northern Sullivan counties.
According to Nina Frakes book, The Descendants of Philip and Phoebe (Case) Frakes, 1984 ed., Roscoe Frakes’ line of descent is as follows: Philip and Phoebe (Case) Frakes è Conrad and Sarah (Case) Frakes è John and Mary (Leach) Frakes è Robert and Anna (Romine) Frakes è Roscoe and Mimi (Lee) Frakes è and their son was Roscoe Lee Frakes. Roscoe’s wife Mimi and son Roscoe Lee were deceased by the date of this photograph. Roscoe and a few of his brothers, sisters, and children are identified in the photograph.
Of the approximately 83 persons in this photograph, so far only a couple of dozen (28) persons have been positively identified. Some were identified in notes left behind by Ethel Frakes. A few were identified by a Frakes cousin, Lowell Hall. Besides Frakes, a number of DeBauns, Johnsons and Stanleys are present. So far, we’ve also identified a Turner and a Harvey. I suspect a number of Hamiltons, Harveys and Holmes may also be present, probably descendants of Fred Hamilton and Laura Ellen (Frakes) Hamilton, simply because many of their uncles and cousins are known to be in the picture.

6. Roscoe Frakes, host of the reunion. A descendant of Conrad Frakes and Sarah (Case) Frakes.
7. Maurice DeBaun. Son of Alva DeBaun and Emma (Frakes) DeBaun.

11. Daniel Johnson. Levada (Johnson) Frakes’ uncle. Ethel’s notes say his mother was a Frakes. [Mother was Elizabeth Ann Frakes]
12. Alva DeBaun. His wife, deceased at this time, was Emma Frakes, daughter of Peter Frakes and Mary Ellen (Biggs) Frakes.
