Catherine [Nicholson] Barrie (B600),
11/22/1920, age 32, accompanied by Irene Barrie, age 10, Race: Irish (this
is new!)
From: Father-in-law James Barry, 132 Market
St., Halifax, NS
To: Dorchester, MA, Sister (this is the mystery
that I cannot read) looks like "Bessie Pettifold", 121 Park St., Dorchester, MA
There is no sister Bessie, maybe it is Jessie,
but it definitely says Bessie here, but I cannot make out the last name.
I don't know what the first letter is. I looked in the index for "Pettifold"
(P314) and there were NONE. I can try to check the 1920 census for "Pettifold"
and see if there is anything. On the actual record it looks like PETUFOLD or PETRIFOLD or PETUFOAL or PETUFOD, and still BESSIE. I did not have time to look this up on the 1920 census, but will try to get back there before I leave.
