Dale Edward Bastin was born in Connersville, Indiana on April 29, 1930, the youngest son of James E. 'Jimmy' Bastin and Myrtle May Gabbert. He was a grandson of James Monroe and Laura Jane (Young) Bastin). Dale married Patsy Maxine Bassett on March 20, 1948. He died on August 28, 1990. Patsy Maxine Bassett was born July 20, 1926, and she died on May 23, 1992.
Their grave is in eastern Shelby County, Indiana in a small cemetery, situated among five generations of Patsy's relatives. The marker stone is 5 feet long and 3 feet high and reads BASTIN on the back.
