Mary (Bastin) Black (daughter of Benjamin Barton and Sara Ann (Falconbury) Bastin, Great-Great Grand-daughter of Thomas and Hannah Bastin of Caswell County, NC.) was born in 1849 in KY, and died in Kansas. She married Dr. John S. Black.
Their tombstone, shown here, is in Blakeley Cemetary, Madison, KS. The epitaph given to Mary on her tombstone was "A Pioneer Mother".
