'Christine' or 'Teen', was a daughter of James Cordis 'Cordie' and Ilene Dawson (Waddell) Bastin . Although her given name, according to her mom, was spelled Christian, she went by Christine, and this became the accepted spelling of her name.
'Teen' lived with her parents, (my grandparents), and I regularly visited them, spending the night on Friday nights, and staying through early afternoon on Saturdays. As a youngster, I remember going all over Barren County, KY with 'Teen' on her Avon route on Saturday mornings. She would visit all of her regular customers, take their orders, and then, once their orders came in, return to deliver the ordered goods. We went all over in her 1960 Ford with the rocket tailfins :-) 'Teen' was always cooking up something good in the kitchen, too. Pies, cookies, cakes, or whatever!
She died at a very young age, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY from complications from cancer. Her grave is located in the eastern part of the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetary, Horse Cave, Hart County, KY beside, and just to the north of, the graves of her parents.
