Mary W. Atwell was born 17 Nov 1780 in Maryland, and evidently migrated with her family to Caswell County, NC. She married Thomas Bastin, Jr. there, and they migrated, along with their children (and their families) to (then) east Barren County, KY in about 1830. Mary died 26 Jan 1852, and was buried at a cemetary on what is now the Metcalfe and Green County line. (Metcalfe County was formed from parts of E Barren, W Adair, and SW Green counties in 1860.) When her husband, Thomas Jr. died, he was buried beside her, in the same cemetary.
