Mattie (Bastin) Crain (daughter of William M. and Nancy Jane (Ennis) Bastin, Great-Great Grand-daughter of Thomas and Hannah Bastin of Caswell County, NC.) was born 14 Feb 1866 in Metcalfe County, KY, and died in Texas on 6 Dec 1901. She married H. S. Crain.
Her tombstone in Balch's Cemetary, Alvarado, Johnson County, TX, was found in pieces, and was put back together in a concrete base by her great grand-daughter, Iva Smith. (Photo courtesy of Burl & Iva Smith. Thanks!)
