The Mechanic
You have a vehicle as most of us do. You take a certain amount of pride in the
ownership of it and you know it will finally suffer an occasional breakdown. There is a mechanic down the street who will
be more than happy to work on it, and he appears
to be decent in his work and is always bugging you to work on it. You take it to him all the time, and as much
as you like going to him because of his fancy shop and flashing lights, free
coffee and donuts, your car just continues to break down all the time. He charges you a big fat price and makes you
like it; says it's just one of those things and will probably not happen
anymore. Seems like you can always hear
him snickering as you drive away, but you continue to return for more
punishment. Then one day, you return to
get your car, only to find he has put it in the crusher, completely destroyed
for all eternity. He tells you he had
to do it because of all the cheap parts you had been buying from him to put on
it had caused its eternal demise. Then
he laughs at you for being such a sucker for so long.
What if I told you about a mechanic who stands more
than ready to service your car and is open 24/7/365. He will come right where you are and begin to work on it
immediately without delay. As a matter
of fact, He made your car and will take a personal approach to repairing it,
since He knows every part of it by heart.
It's a lifetime warranty available to all those who sign up for it. And it's free to the car owner because the
mechanic paid for it himself; He cares about his cars that much. When He fixes your car, He uses brand new
parts, sometimes to the point you can't even recognize your old car. Now He does expect you to stay in constant
touch with Him so He can keep it shined up for you, and also keep all of it's
components functioning properly. You
see, He doesn't want His cars to give out a bad image when going down the road
because He has a true burden for His business to grow to the point that
everyone comes to Him for service. It
is never too late to sign up, as long as your car is kept from that eternal
crusher. Sometimes the most broken ones
clean up the best; He turns away no one
and is never too busy to attend to
His loyal or potential customers. Would
you be willing to adopt this plan for your car? I think the logical answer to this is yes, you would.
Friend, let me tell you a similar plan is available
for your soul, and Jesus Christ is
the Great Mechanic. He wants to provide
your soul with a lifetime (eternal) warranty that He paid for Himself with His
own precious blood He shed on the cross at Calvary. You do not even have to pick up the phone to call Him. Just simply lift your heart towards Heaven
and cry out, "Jesus, fix me for I
am broken. I accept your plan of
eternal salvation." He is waiting
for your call today, for whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13 KJV)
