Dying For Dollar$

Cost-of-Breeding Survey

Patricia Adkisson, the owner of an alleged "puppy mill" in Lyles, Tennessee has stated in court that over the last 18 months she spent $11,000 on food and $8,000 on medical expenses for the dogs on her property. This information makes it easy to determine her monthly expenses per dog.

These are the purebred breeds that were kept at her facility: Afghan Hound, Bichon Frise, Boxer, Chihuahua, Chinese Crested, Chow, Cocker, Collie, Corgi, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Manchester Terrier, Miniature Dachshund, Miniature Pinscher, Papillon, Pomeranian, Poodle, Pug, Schipperke, Schnauzer, Siberian Husky, Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier.

If you live in the United States and if you are a breeder of one or more of these breeds, we would like to invite you to participate in our survey so that we can do a cost comparison of her expenses vs. normal breeder expenses in this country.

The final results of this survey will be delivered to the Nashville newspaper, the Tennessean ... and also to the District Attorney of Hickman County, where the case is in litigation.
