A couple years ago we retired and sold the ranch and moved back to our smaller place. Here are pictures of the barn and pasture/arena area after we had them totally re-worked. Barn and Pasture Pictures

Due to a severe injury to Guy in October 1999 when some loose dogs ran him through a fence we are no longer able to compete. He is sound again but I do not want to put the pressure of the barrel turns on his shoulder so we do other things. More trail rides and camping. However, here are some pictures of us at our last State show.

I want to thank U. C. Davis Equine Medical Hospital for their excellent care. They had two surgeons waiting for us when we arrived at 10:30 pm and performed emergency surgery at midnight. He spent eight days at Davis following the surgery and 6 month's in a stall with daily care after I brought him home. It took him almost 2 years to recover.

This is "The Boy's Limo", my pride and joy. It is a 1997 Dodge V10 3/4 ton and a 2006 Sundowner 727. We use it of course for hauling to shows and trails but also as a camper when we are out camping. We roll out our sleeping bags and we're ready to go! It's great. It is officially named the "Redneck Hilton"!

I love to camp with my family, friends and horses. Our favorite places are Pt. Reyes on the Marin coast and at Silver Lake in the California Sierras. It is great riding and good company. I have six beautiful granddaughters. They all love and have horses and ride. Of course all the horses are spoiled! We are doing our part in keeping the carrot industry in business!

The kids are doing great and two are now riding gymkhana. It's almost as much fun coaching them as riding!

I have to confess I am a Parelli convert and am very involved in Natural Horse-Man Ship. May of 2004 I drove myself and Guy back to Pagosa Springs Colorado to attend 2 weeks of Level 1 and Level 1 Advance training sessions. What an experiance! I learned so much and they are so nice, patient and understanding there. I'm proud to say we completed our Level 1 assessment and graduated in September. We are now working on stage 3 of Level 2. I have started Buddy on his Level 1 and he is doing very well.

Guy is a very "go'ey" horse (makes sense.. he was a barrel horse!) and likes to step out on the trails. The training has sure has made a difference! I do not have to fight with him to slow down and his whole demenor has changed. He is calmer now and not so reactive to "spooks"!

I am now retired and giving riding lessons. The name of my training business is Kiddy Up Training. I really enjoy working with kids and teens and am having a great time. I also have a couple adult students who are new horse owners.

I am a member of Tri-Cities Horsemen's Association. Tri-Cities is a local club and we have a great time doing gymkhanas (horse shows) playdays, trail rides, bbqs and just hanging out with friends.

I am also a member of California State Horsmen's Association and Past President of the local Region 5. I am currently the state chair for the Trail Rider Awards Program (TRAP) that is a great program for trail riders. For more info check out the TRAP website.
