You didn't think that you can pamper your hamster??? If you didn't, well, sorry but you are wrong!!! *smile* These are some ideas to pamper your hamster, without spending a cent or only a few dollars.

If you have just a few of these things, than you are a true hamster pamperer! *clap, clap*

A plastic ball: You know, those things where you put your hamster in those empty plastic balls in which they can roam around in your house!

Feeding it alpha-alpha (once in a while) or honeybars: It's like a kind of hay but instead of being yellow, it's green. They also come in cubes. Honeybars are a great treat for all hamsters!

Rolls or tubes: Empty cardboard rolls from toilet paper. (Make sure it's clean!) Or if you really want to get fancy, you can buy those colorful, plastic tubes (at a petstore) creating a hamster "labyrinth". (I have one of those and my hamster loves it!)

Nesting material: It could be as simple as pieces of tissue, or cloth, to buying a sleeping blanket.

Salt or mineral blocks: They are blocks usually shaped as an almost flat-cylinder or rectangular shaped. They sometimes come with a holder to place on the side of the cage. They provide some minerals hamsters need.

Better yet, vitamin drops: Comes in a small bottle in which you can add the drops to the hamsters drinking water.

Gnawing stuff: Hamsters constantly need to gnaw to keep their teeth from overgrowing you can help them by, buying those wooden blocks at petstores, or finding twigs. (Although beware not to use branches from poisonous trees. Or ones near cars. Oak, alder, chestnut, poplar, and willow are fine to use. Then disenfect them under boiling water and let to dry.) Or just plain gnawing at the side of their cage is fine!
