*FUTURISTIC FACT*
The history of how the Hawaiian Islands were formed is very unique, but what they will become is even more intriguing. New islands will form and grow, while the old islands slowly become smaller as they each erode, and eventually disappear below sea level. When new islands form, they will gradually move away from the 'hot spot' that they have been over for 65 million years. A great change is slowly taking place, and although it may take 20,000-100,000 years, the Hawaiian Islands will change in appearance considerably.
