WELCOME
Hello and Welcome to my Blanton History
I have two lines of BLANTONS in my history.
One line is from Emmie Lou Edna Blanton who married Joseph Henry Featherston Jolly. The other line is through my Allison line, which is from John Harvey Allison who married a Sarah Blanton. Both lines due converge further back but one this page at present I will share with you the line from Emmie Blanton.
My Blanton line through my great grandmother Emmie Lou Edna BLANTON.
13. Emmie (Emma) Loue Edna BLANTON b: 11 Jun 1875.
She was the third of eight daughters born to Jonas C.
Blanton and Sarah R. Whelchel. Born in Spartanburg Co.,
Limestone Springs TWP., SC. She married Joseph
Henry F. JOLLY on 10 Mar 1890 in the same area.
**Emmie as she was called, and this compiler will refer
to her as such. I have not found any documents to prove
her name was Emma.** d: 5 Mar 1950 in Gaffney, SC.
Buried at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery also in
Gaffney, Cherokee Co., SC.
Emmie and Joe Henry Jolly had 13 children.
You can
find more information about them on the JOLLY page. I
will be adding that information as time permits.
26. Jonas Columbus BLANTON b: 6 Sept 1848 in Union Co.,
SC m: ca. 1866 to Sarah Rebecca WHELCHEL in SC d: 10
Jul 1925 in Midway, Cherokee Co., SC. He was buried
at Petty Grave Yard Gaffney, SC.
52. David BLANTON b: abt 1822 in SC. It is possible
that it is Union Co., SC ** David Blanton was found in
1850 and 1860 Census in Union Co., SC. There seems to be
some confusion as to David’s wife. On a census record
his wife is Jane but another source says it is Virginia
Petty.**
