To get to any of other surnames that I am researching please click the home link below. This page will focus on the Hudson branch of my dad's ancestory. I dedicate this page to my great grandmother Mary Catherine HUDSON DeWitt and the HUDSON lineage that she brought to my family.
Now lets gets started.
My Hudson Family line comes out Colleton County, SC when my ancestor Richard Edward DeWitt married Mary Catherine Hudson.
The date of their marriage is calculated to be about 1875-1880. They married in Colleton County, SC.
The children born to Richard Edward and Mary Catherine Hudson DeWitt are discussed on the DEWITT page.
Mary's parents were: Christopher HUDSON and Sarah C. (uncertain to Sarah's maiden name - the "C" could mean Crosby as there were Crosby's living nearby but there has been some indication that Sarah is the daughter of Michael Hiers).
Christopher and Sarah had two children according to my research.
James B. born ca. 1853 and Mary Catherine born July 1855.
I have found very little information on James B at this time but research is continuing.
Mary's father Christopher had to have died during the Civil War as he is not found in any records after 1860.
So it is my assumption that he was killed between 1860 and 1865.
