The Union Pacific Passenger Train, City of Los Angeles is pulled along the east bank of the L.A. River by a switch engine towards the LAUPT. Here is a photo of the Union Pacific Passenger Yard where the City of Los Angeles was serviced.
This Southern Pacific transfer train is on UP trackage from the Union Pacific Yard. Headed by two Alco C-628's, there were only 4 of these locomotive left on the roster at this time. Photo 1972
