Class of 1987's

"Random Act Of Kindness Award"

Our 10 Year Reunion was held November, 1997. As most of you know, 87 cents was added to the price of each ticket to symbolize money we would put aside for an award to be given to a member of the PVMHS Class of 1998. By foregoing printed tickets and adding our 87 cents per attendee, we were able to raise $500!

I am happy to announce that the first award was given on June 10th at the Senior Awards Convocation held at the high school. Mark Titelbaum kindly represented our class and presented the $250 Class of 1987's "Random Act of Kindness Award" to the 87th ranked member of the Class of 1998, Danielle J. Mador.

The award was explained to Danielle as follows:

"Your graduation day is one filled with excitement and great expectation for life after high school. The road ahead will have it's ups and downs. With that in mind, we hope that in the future you will remember that sometimes good things, like bad, happen for no reason at all.

We hope that when it is time for your reunion you encourage your classmates to return the kindness to a 98th ranked Peabody student."

Danielle sent back a short form I asked her to fill out so we could know a little more about her.

    • Her favorite memory of Peabody High School (so far) is of her friends and graduation.
    • Her favorite class was Ecology taken in her Junior Year and least favorite was Physics taken in her Senior Year.
    • While at school she was a member of the Colorguard and Winterguard.
    • She hasn't chosen a major yet but she will be attending the University of Maine, Orono in the fall (Any UMaine alum out there to give her advice?!)
    • Danielle also said she was very surprised by our gift and that many people came up to her after the ceremony and said it was the
BEST AWARD OF THE NIGHT and that people were still talking about it for some time after.
    • And finally Danielle says that she will indeed make sure that at her reunion a similar award will be produced for a student at the high school!

We will be able to present this award one more to time to a student in the Class of 1999. We would like to make this a tradition for our class. Would anyone like to run a fundraiser??

All donations are very welcome. Please send contributions, with checks payable to the Class of 1987, to:
