Birds Etc.

After a long winter, it is time to once again take in the beauty of nature.
The birds are busy building their nests and this year they have and added bonus of
Poodle hair to line them. It will be interesting in the Fall, at birdhouse clean out time,
to see how many have taken advantage of the fluffy liner.
The feeding stations are up and already we have diners. Take a stroll through Birds Etc.
and marvel at the jewels of nature.

Above...A rainstorm didn't stop the birds from coming to the feeders but a few took a break to fluff up their feathers or just sit and wait it out. There was actually a lot of activity at all of the feeders during the rain!

Watercolor painting or real bird!
The following is a sequence of pictures after my husband told me we had baby bird noises and the sound of tiny feet coming from the exhaust fan over the stove in the kitchen!!!
Exhaust vent on back of house Mama Starling landing Mama bringing nest material
Checking things out before going in Opening the vent Heading in
Almost in Made it! Food delivered..all done!
All babies made it out of the vent except one. He made a wrong turn leaving the nest and fell down on top of the fan blades in the exhaust fan over the stove. We removed the cover and he made it into my hand and was released outside and flew away! So all babies are fine and the vent is now closed for the season!
Oh darn, I dropped the food! Proud Mama
The previous 5 photos show a little bird which stumped me but I finally found him on the web. It is a male Cassin's Finch.
