Comments: My mother's maiden name is Kellogg and ever since I was little, I've been interested in finding out more about my family. It wasn't until a few years ago that I found out that I was directly related to the original owners of the Kellogg factory. I think that was when I started my quest to find out more about my family. It amazed me to find out that my relatives that live in Massachusetts, where the name is more common, didn't know squat about our family. I think I'm going to have to educate them myself ! In the late 17th century and early 18th, a Sarah Kellogg of Hadley,MA, daughter of Joseph (no dates for him yet) married an Samuel Ashley in Hadley,MA. Comments: Excellent site! I am a "Kellogg descendant" and I have been collecting Kellogg genealogy (and our "peripheral" families for a while. This site provided me with more "links" to my family. I am descended from Samuel, one of the three brothers who were t e original immigrants to America. My great-great grandfather, Martin Newton Kellogg owned some land in the area that is now St. Paul, Minneapolis, Minnesota, as was one of the first settlers in that area. There is a main boulevard in St. Paul/Minneapoli named after him -- I believe it runs parallel to the Mississippi River.
