Challenge Awards

This is the award presented to the premier bitch and dog of each variety. Only dogs and bitches from the class of "Puppy" and above who have placed first in their class are represented in this lineup. The winner of this lineup is awarded what are known as challenge points. These points are accumulated towards the title of "Australian Champion". The points are accumulated as follows:

        * 6 points for a dog/bitch who wins without any competition
        * An additional one point is added for every dog/bitch over the class of
           "Puppy" who is entered.
        * A dog/bitch may accumulate up to 25 points in one show.
        * 25 points may also be achieved if the dog/bitch wins Best Exhibit in
Group regardless of the number of competitors in his/her own breed.
          * The title of Australian Champion is attained once the dog/bitch has
           accumulated 100 challenge points

Best Of Breed

This award is presented to the dog or bitch that the judge deems to be worthy of the title "Best Of Breed". This award is decided by the judge assesing both the dog and bitch challenge winners and deciding which is the most correct, best presented specimen on the day.
