Come Sit A Spell On
Carol's Porch!
Carol E. Bratland
This page deals with short quips about everyday life.
Housework help needed so bad it's not funny.
I read, "Ten Items or Less" with glee.
A line he didn't even try to rehearse,
A fork in the drawer could not be seen.
A little boy played in a mud puddle.
My cart was so full it was not stable.
All bright, red and in a big pot,
After "one of those days" I was shown,
Hopefully more "Lame Limericks"

I'm out working just trying to make money.
But a word of advice,
Is not very nice,
When it comes from the lips of a dustbunny!
This milk had to be home expressly.
She was dead ahead,
Holding 11 loaves of bread.
I remembered, the rules apply only to me.
Sam delivered it in only one verse.
"The candy's fuzzy again!"
So I knew just then,
Definately time to clean out my purse.
All were in the dishwashing machine.
I grabbed and bit,
Just then it hit,
The dishes within were not clean!
Then something happened that would befuddle.
Forty dollars he found.
So now all around,
That lake of mud his sisters did huddle.
Crammed as much food in as I was able.
The cashier gave a look,
Regarding my checkbook,
When I told her it was at home on the table.
My poinsettia's beauty anticipated alot.
The holiday passed by,
My flower began to die,
A green thumb I perceive I have not.
A warm bath was needed to be alone.
Just settled in,
Bubbles 'neath my chin,
I hear the unanswered bell of the phone.
