A Vision of Hope

Groping in the darkness
No light to guide the way
Where am I you say
Fumbling for a switch
Where none is found
Listening for a sound
A faint light you see
Far away and small
You begin to crawl
You're creeping to the light
It's grown brighter some
You hear a voice say Come
A form appears ahead
Arms reach out in love
Look my child above
He sets you on your feet
Guides you toward the light
You view the glorious sight
A land beyond your dreams
A place where all is fair
With glorious music there
No evil lurks around
In light Your truly blest
You've found the Place of Rest

WHY?

Lord, sometimes I wonder
How you can love us so
If it had been me
I'd have given up long ago
So few accept Your love
Even though it's free
A few years here they claim
When they could live eternally
They cling to selfish idols
They hunger for the best
When you have to offer
Joy and peace and rest
Yet, You would have died
For only one of us
That one can be forgiven
And cleansed from sinfulness
Those who choose to serve You
May be few and far between
Yet, at the resurrection
A multitude is seen
Lord, the offerings of this world
Are truly not enough
When I think of Heaven's blessings
And Your eternal love
