Life Story
of
A Methodist Minister's Wife by Bessie Naomi Barton Hamilton |
My great grandmother Bessie Naomi Barton was born in 1893 in PineLog GA and married Reverend George Wharton Hamilton in PineLog in 1910. In 1979 she wrote her memoirs using the title above. In her book she describes growing up in PineLog, mentioning many neighbors and friends by name. The family were members of the PineLog Methodist church and she also describes the camp meetings which were held there.
After they were married, they moved about 20 times! They were assigned to many small Georgia towns including Young Harris, Fairmount, and Griffin in the early 1900's.
If you have family in any of these area, please use your find command to search for surnames of interest to you, then email me below with the name! Also, be sure to check Rev Hamilton's minister's records of christenings and marriages.
