The Mole Was Magnificent!

It's been a while, but I have been really busy. Anyways, let's begin with my newest favorite show, The Mole. As of my writing, the overnight numbers on the final show had it at 15.5 million viewers, much higher than the other episodes ratings. Even though The Mole struggled in the ratings, ABC has decided to renew it. That is a great move. The Mole is by far, the best and most entertaining reality show this year. The best part of it was the variety, a different challenge or different scenery, always made the show interesting. As for the Mole's identity, I was convinced it was Steven. To me, too many unusual things happened when he was around. But, in the end, Kathryn was The Mole, and Steven ended up winning the $510,000. I really enjoyed the finale, because it reunited all of the players, and it showed the clues along the way. Mind you, you had to be really observant to pick up on some of them! It was also interesting to see how hard it was to be The Mole. It didn't look very easy, but Kathryn did a very good job of being The Mole! When ABC does bring The Mole back, it needs to push it more! Take the Millionaire approach with merchandising, (like hats, t-shirts, games), and the Survivor approach in getting the executed victims on the talk shows. You can't turn on a television Friday mornings without seeing the latest Survivor evictee, why not the same for The Mole? Right now, The Mole has a dedicated fan base. ABC should use it to jump start and expand viewership for The Mole II.
