Burch



Jarrett Burch, jr was born 15 Jan 1815 in Pendleton Co SC to Jarrett Sr and Milly Pinson Burch. Jarret, jr. married Aveline L "Avey" Burch on November 9, 1837. She was born 10 Oct 1817 to Baylor Burch and Lucy Crisp of Person Co NC.

Avey L Burch died 8 April 1889 and was buried in the Lower Bell Creek Church Cemetery.

In 1893, Jarrett Burch, jr. filed for a pension for his service in the Indian Wars. He stated that heenlisted 1 Sept 1837 in Union County in Capt Jesse Henley's Co., Col Bartlett's Regt of Georgia Volunteers during "the Cherokee disturbances" and was discharged 1 Aug 1838 at Blairsville; stated his wife's maiden name, when and where they were married, her date and place of death, and that he had resided in Union and Towns Co since his discharge from service. His application was rejected because no rolls of Capt Henley's Co. could be found.

Jarrett, jr died May 6, 1897 and was buried beside his wife.
