William P. Foster, the son of William Foster, was born 1785 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. In 1791, Buncombe Co was formed from Rutherford Co., NC. In 1808, Haywood County was created from part of Buncombe County. The Fosters then lived in the area of the newly formed county of Haywood.

William P Foster was married to Barbara Garner. William and Barbara Garner Foster had several children. Only two of his children are known to this author.

1. Isaac Foster was born 8 May 1809 in Haywood County, NC. He married Lucinda R Davis.
2. James Foster was born NC. We only assume that James is the son of William. There is some speculation.
