Yes, the world.
The world and all of the things of the world. This means things not of Christ. As Christians, we must hate the world and everything in it. This is difficult, but there is a way. We must constantly offer our bodies up to Christ. We must offer our lives themselves.
Why does God demand this? Why does He ask so much of us? These are two very important questions. The answer is:
God's ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts. However, He is perfect and we are not. If you disagree with that statement please click here. Anyways, it is important to realize that God is smarter than us and wants the best for us just like a father wants his children to have the best. This is really an easy concept to grasp, if you think about it.
We need to ask, "God, I crucify my ways, for they have errors. What is your will for my life? Teach me it!" Then we need to listen to Him and not others, our flesh, or our mind.
