Hi, Maiden name is Julie Louis Myers; Parents are Delbert Leroy Myers and Rosario Chargualaf Myers, The only thing I know about my father is that he was born in Pennsylvania April 6 1902(if i am correct) he had remarried so; his family might still be some here in Pennsylvania, his daughters are: Judy; Joann; Carla and Christine their ages would have to be before the years of 1950 and as for me, my sisters/brother are: John; Delores; Julie(myself) and twin sister Judy. Hi! My name is John Albert Myers, Born 12 March 1939, at Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, England. (United Kingdom). My parents were Ernest William Myers, and Mabel Myers, (nee Hill). My Grandfather was Timothy Myers, about whom I know little as he was killed in n accident in 1906, aged 26, when my father was only a few months old. All I know is that his family came from a place called Millom, in the County of Cumbria, in the North of England where there are many Myers still. I have only recently thought I would like to make a start and at least get further back than my Grand father. By the way in England I have found out just by an 'amateur' look at old records in the Cumbria Record Office that the earliest spelling was Ellin MYRES, the daughter of Jeffray Myres at her baptism on 3 August 1951. The first spelling (in those Records) of Myers, was 17 May 1647, when John Myers married Anne Postlewhaite. Through to 1812,when the particular record finished,the Christian names, Timothy and John were very frequently u ed, in many cases being handed from father to son, complicating the issue of separating them for identification purposes, unless weddings, funerals etc clarify the issue. I would have a strong guess that the Myers component of your family tree came originally from Cumbria, England. The only item that came to our notice, was that John Myers was a Cousin of the 'Lakeland' Poet William Wordsworth, who is quite well known in England, and many Americans will have visited the latter's cottage in the Lake District on their holidays. I hope I'm not being too longwinded but I thought that, as a courtesy, I, a complete stranger, should visit your website, that a little background of ,who and why, might be of interest. Incidently I came across your website via www.familysearch.org, whi h I understand is run by the Mormons. He is supposed to have seen his father and brother murdered by bushwackers(similar to Quantrell's raiders) near or at the beginning of the Civil War near the Oklahoma, K nsas, MO lines.
