I
was born in a small town called Gundagai in Southern NEW SOUTH WALES to two
wonderful parents.
I am the second youngest of 6 boys. I was born on the 15th Day of July 1949.
I have lived in Gundagai until I went into the army for National Service in
1970 a week before I turned
21 was there at Kapooka army barracks for 3 months and then was discharged
from the army for not being coordinated to Army life.
After leaving the army I started to work in the Post Master General's Department at Wagga Wagga later
called Australia Post as a postman, was there from October 71 through to
April 84, from which I resigned due to ill health,
During
this time I met with a lady who introduced me to Jesus Christ this was after
I had been reading the Bible for one year since going to Youth for Christ
meeting at the Civic Theatre in Wagga the year was 1975 and I had been very
sick from different things including food poisoning, stress that had become
distress. She was able to help me to reform my diet from a mainly meat eating
diet to a vegetarian diet. As well as giving me the needed spiritual direction
I needed to point me in the right direction.
At
first I was very headstrong and stubborn and wanted to change, not
gradually as she had hoped for but as if it could be done YESTERDAY. She had
a problem trying to tell me to go slowly but eventually I learnt by bitter
experience by the mistakes I had made.
Margaret was patient with me and so was our Lord and eventually I was able
to learn
how to balance my diet that I was gaining weight and looking better then ever.
At the moment I am at my ideal weight and the relationship I have with God
is getting
better from a reliance on His Word who is Jesus Christ and living His Word
out in my life.
I returned to Gundagai in 1984 and started to work for my father at his motel
THE T.V. MOTEL from early 85 through
to July 93 as my father had died in May 1990 and my mum wanted to close the
motel down.
I decided to go back to study and started to study at TUMUT COLLEGE
OF TAFE that was in 1994 after passing at the course there
(Tertiary Preperation Certificate) I applied to study at Canberra Institute
of Technology
to do the Asssociate Diploma of Social Sciences in Disability Studies which
I had passed at the end of 1996.
I have been looking ever since for work while attempting to study by Distance
Education. At the moment I am not studying but looking for full time work
in the disability area.
In
1999 I went back to study Electronic Publishing for one sememster at Canberra
Institute of Technology to improve my opportunities to find work as well as
do something I have always wanted to do that lasted for one semester and I
am still looking for work and in September of 1999 my mother passed away from
a stroke. See the Tribute to mum on this site.
At
the moment I am living in Queanbeyan which is just across the border from
the Australian Capital Territory in New South Wales just a few minutes drive to Canberra our nations capital.
Come back to this page as I will add to it as I feel I should.
Your brother in Christ from the land down under,
Ron Freestone
