Christmas Hints and Helps

Everyone needs some help around Christmas. Here are some things to help make the season less hectic and chaotic.

Get some card stock paper or copy paper and let the children help make the family Christmas Cards. Let the children draw the picture on the front and have a message preprinted on the inside.

Store all of your wrapping paper and ribbons in a box separate from the decorations. Make sure that it is well marked. This way you can start wrapping and putting away gifts before it is time to decorate the house and tree. I like to wrap gifts as I buy or make them. On the back of the gift tag I use a removable sticker to write who it is to and what is inside.

If you have to have tinsel, try to keep it off the lower branches if you have animals in your house. For some reason they will try to eat it and the tinsel will bind up their intestines. It is also terrible on a vacuum cleaner.

Use refrigerator dough for making cookies. It is a life saver for a busy Mom or Dad when you need to have a treat for a school party.

Always keep your eyes out for stocking stuffers. I always have a hidden set of bags with my children's names on them. This way, when I get home with stocking stuffers, I can place them into the bag with the child's name on. On Christmas Eve, I just have to get out the bag and place in the appropriate stocking. I won't have to wonder where something is or wonder who I bought this CD for.
