Crochet Chenille Scarf
This scarf is so soft and warm that anyone would enjoy wearing it on a cold winter day.
Materials:
2 skeins of worsted weight chenille yarn (each color - Color A and Color B)
or worsted weight soft acrylic yarn can be used.
K crochet hook
Ch 17.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, *dc in next st, sc in next st. repeat from * across ending with a sc in last st.
Remaining rows: Repeat row 2 until you have the first stripe finished. Fasten off Color A and attach Color B. If doing in one color, do not fasten off but continue on. I made my stripes 22 rows long. Repeat color stripes until you have 5 stripes finished (more or less according you the design you want for stripes). Make sure you have yarn left for the fringe when you have finished the stripes. The 2 skeins of each color will make for a long scarf. End with Color A at one end and Color B at the other end.
Fringe: Using Color B Attach it to the beginning of the scarf you started with Color A. (see in photo). Sc in first st. Ch 11, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch down to scarf. *Sc in next st. Ch 11, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch down to scarf. Repeat from * to end of scarf edge. Repeat on other end with Color A for the fringe attached to the Color B edge. By crocheting your fringe I will not unravel as it is worn or washed.
I used a brown and rust chenille. I crocheted the rust fringe to the brown edge and the brown fringe to the rust edge. My Color A was Rust and my Color B was brown.
When done fasten off and weave in ends. They stay woven in very well with the chenille yarn.
