Materials Needed:
F crochet hook
Small amount of white Bernat Coordinates or baby/sport weight yarn
1 pin for back
Fabric glue
2 star buttons - one red, one blue
1/4 inch ribbon - few inches of red and blue
Row 1: ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1 and turn.
Row 2: 3 sc in sc, ch 1 and turn.
Row 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1 and turn.
Row 4: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1 and turn.
Row 5: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1 and turn.
Row 6: Skipping first 2 sc, do 5 dc in next sc, skip 1 sc, sl st in next sc, skip 1 sc and do 5 dc in next sc, sl st in last sc. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.
Border round: ch 1 and working around heart, sc evenly spaced around heart doing 3 sc in bottom point and each bump on top. Sl st where the bumps joint in the center top. When you get completely around, sl st in ch 1 and fasten off. Weave in ends.
Finishing Heart: Take small amount of blue ribbon and weave through back of pin and up through holes in red button. Tie in knot twice to hold. Do same with blue button and red ribbon. Using fabric glue, I used "Alene's ok to wash it", glue safety pin to back and let dry overnight.
This pin makes a nice remembrance of those that have passed away and those who will be fighting.
