These are ideas for crafty things that kids can make. They have been tested
and kids give them a big thumbs up.

Fancy Tie-Died Shoe Laces
- Bubble Blower
- Strong bendable wire 28" long
- large wooden bead
- Tacky glue
- Ribbon

- Gently bend wire in half. Shape top into form you like. At bottom of form, twist wire
until twisted all the way to the bottom. Cover end with glued on bead and let dry. Tie
ribbon on the end.
- Prayer Rock
- Find a flat smooth rock. Clean it. Paint a smiley face on it if you like. Place it on the
floor by your bed when you go to sleep. When you wake up, your feet will feel the
cold rock and remind you to kneel down and say your morning prayers. Put it on your
pillow in the morning. When you lay down to sleep at night you will bump your head
on the rock to remind you to say your bedtime prayers.

- Stocking Bean Bag Pal
- Used white or colored stocking
- Markers
- Rubber band or yarn
- Beans
- Draw a face on the stocking using the markers. Fill it half way with the beans. Tie
yarn or rubber band around the opening and have fun.
- Picnic Placemat
- Construction Paper
- Leaves and flower petals
- Tacky Glue
- Clear contact paper
- Find leaves and flower petals and glue them to the construction paper. Cover with the
clear contact paper to protect. Make a set for the whole family. Personalize each if
you want.
- Popsicle Stick Frisbee
- Popsicle sticks
- Tacky glue
- Glue the tips of the popsicle sticks together so that they fan out in a circle. Glue firmly
and let dry completely. When dry, throw like a frisbee and watch it fly.
- Twig Frame
- 8 straight twigs, each cut 1 inch longer than your picture
- Low temp glue gun and glue sticks
- Tag board cut our the same size as your picture
- Any photo or a school photo
- Ribbon
- Lay down tag board on the table. Lay two twigs down horizontally on the top and
bottom. Next lay two twigs on top of the others vertically on the left and right. HAVE
AN ADULT HOT GLUE TOGETHER. Repeat with remaining four twigs on top of
the first set. Glue photo to tag board and let dry. Wrap ribbon around each corner and
let it hang down.
- Pet Rock
- Find an interesting rock and paint eyes on it. Train it to do tricks like rolling over and
sitting up and begging.
- Bug Jar
- Large wide mouth Kerr mason jar with lid
- Acrylic paints
- Paint brush
- Paint shirt
- Hammer
- Nail
- Decorate your jar in any way you want leaving space for light to come in. Let dry.
Have an ADULT pound air holes in the jar lid. Put damp grass and leaves in jar.
Catch small insects or bugs and carefully put them in your jar to watch. ALWAYS set
them free in a very short time and do not keep them over night.
- Pretzel Praying Hands
- Make a batch of Easy Bread Dough(Craft Recipes)
- Heated oven
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Glow-in-the-dark fabric paint
- Roll dough out into a 12 inch long rope on table. Form dough in the shape of a pretzel.
With ADULT HELP, bake at 250 degrees for ½ to 1 hour depending on the thickness
of the dough. Cool and paint. For a bedtime prayer reminder, paint entire front of the
pretzel with glow paint. Let dry. Hold up to lamp, then hang on your bedroom wall
and turn the lights out. The pretzel folds it's arms to pray.
- Napkin Rings
- 4 - 2 inch by 5 inch pieces of cardboard or toilet tissue cores
- 4 - 2 ½ inch by 6 inch pieces of fabric
- Tacky glue
- Roll cardboard into a tube and glue or use tissue rolls. Glue fabric on roll. Repeat for
each ring and let fry.
- Summer Butterfly
- 2 - 7 inch by 7 inch pieces of colored cellophane gift wrap
- 1 wood, non clip clothes pin
- Tacky glue
- Scissors
- 1 - 6 inch black pipe cleaner
- Tiny googly eyes
- Lay cellophane pieces on top each other and cut out 2 large butterfly wings. Keep
wings connected, twist in center for a crinkled look. Put a small amount of glue on
twisted portion of wings and insert clothes pin. Wrap pipe cleaner around head and
twist for antennas. Glue on eyes.
- Chocolate Flowers
- 1 recipe of chocolate clay(craft recipes)
- Shape portion into 10 marble sized balls. Place them on wax paper. Place another
piece of wax paper on top and flatten ball into petal shapes. Form the first petal into a
rolled bud. Then shape petals around the bud to form a flower.

- Old School Picture
- Markers or crayons
- Clear contact paper
- Draw pictures all over the construction paper of things you like or like to do. Glue
picture in center and write your name. Cover with clear contact paper.
- Plastic Lid Frisbee
- Plastic can lid
- Markers or paints
- Paint shirt
- Wear your paint shirt. Paint or draw on the plastic lid and let it dry. It is then ready to
toss and share with a friend.
- Wild Lunch Bags
- Paper lunch bags
- Small damp sponge
- Acrylic paints
- Newspaper
- Paint shirt(to wear)
- Pie tin
- Wear paint shirt. Pour small amount of paint into pie tin. Dip sponge into paint and
dab excess off on newspaper. Press paint filled sponge all over the lunch bag. Repeat
the process with other colors. Let dry and use for school lunches.
- Fancy Tie-Died Shoe Laces
- White shoe laces
- Several colors of food coloring
- Glass bowls with just a little water in them
- 2 plastic lunch bags
- 2 rubber bands to secure bags on hands
