Mile-A-Minute Edging

- Materials:
- Crochet cotton - 1 (218 yard) ball (or more if needed)
- Steel crochet hook size 2
- Tapestry needle
- Spray starch, if desired
- 2" wide - desired length
- Each scallop measures 1 inch across. To save time, take time to check gauge.
- Note: Edging is worked vertically, so work to desired length.
- Edging: To start, ch 10. Join with sl st to form ring.
- First Scallop: Ch 3, work 13 dc in ring, *ch 3, turn; sk 1 dc, hdc in next dc, (ch 1, sk 1 dc, hdc in next dc) 6 times (there
are 7 sp); ch 3, turn, sc in 3rd ch from hook for first picot, sc in next ch 1 sp, (ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook for picot, sc in
next ch 1 sp) 3 times; (sl st in next hdc, sl st in next ch 1 sp) twice (first scallop made). Continue as follows.
- Second Scallop: Ch 6, turn, sk 3 sl st, sl st in next sl st; ch 3, turn, work 13 dc in next sl st; ch 3, turn, work 13 dc in ch 6
lp. Repeat from * on First Scallop to end(second scallop made). Continue in same manner until edging is desired length,
ending with 4 sl st. Do not break off or turn. This is the top edge.
- Heading: Work across top edge as follows: Ch 3, in sp on last scallop work 1 sc, ch 1 and 1 dc, * ch 2, dc over end of next
dc, ch 1, trc in ch 6 lp, ch 1; in sp on next scallop work 1 dc, ch 1 and 1 sc. Repeat from * across. Break off.
- Finishing: Weave in all ends. Starch if desired. Press with damp cloth until dry.
